The highly anticipated films Pushpa 2 starring Allu Arjun and Chhava featuring Vicky Kaushal were both initially slated for release in December. However, recent updates indicate changes in their release schedules. Following the official announcement that Pushpa 2 will have a global release on December 5, reports suggest that the release of Chhava has been postponed to avoid a box office clash.
The makers of Chhava, directed by Laxman Utekar, had initially planned a December 6 release. The film revolves around the life of Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji. The decision to delay its release is reportedly to give it an open release window. Chhava is one of the most significant projects in Vicky Kaushal’s career, with actress Rashmika Mandanna, who also stars in Pushpa, playing a key role. Akshaye Khanna portrays Aurangzeb, while A.R. Rahman has composed the music.
Pushpa 2, expected to set records in India, has generated significant excitement with every new update. In addition to Allu Arjun, Fahadh Faasil from the Malayalam industry plays a prominent role. Originally scheduled for an August release, Pushpa 2 was postponed to December due to delays in filming. With the announcement of Pushpa’s release date, several other films slated for December have also adjusted their schedules.
The sequel is being produced with a budget four times larger than the first film, around 500 crores. Reports suggest that Fahadh Faasil, who portrays the antagonist, is receiving a fee of 7 crores, compared to the 3.5 crores he earned in the first film. Pushpa: The Rise, the first installment, became a nationwide sensation, earning two National Film Awards and seven State Film Awards. The second part, titled Pushpa: The Rule, is expected to be equally impactful.
