Currently, AI-generated images featuring classic Hollywood characters with the face of Mohanlal, a beloved actor from Malayalam cinema, are making waves online. While it’s something that has been attempted multiple times before, this time there’s a difference — the iconic characters of Hollywood have been given the face of Mohanlal, affectionately known as “Lalettan.”
From Sylvester Stallone’s unforgettable role as Rocky, to Jack from Titanic, and Tom Cruise’s character from Top Gun, the characters now feature Mohanlal’s face. In addition to these, Mohanlal’s face has also been applied to characters from The Godfather, James Bond, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, and The Matrix using AI technology. These images have been released on an Instagram handle called “AI.Majin.”
The images have gained significant traction on social media. A fan shared the images with the caption, “If Lalettan was born in Hollywood,” and another user praised the AI creator’s efforts, saying no amount of appreciation would be enough. There is also ongoing debate about which of these AI-generated images is the best.
Meanwhile, Anwar Rasheed, a director with a large fan base in Malayalam cinema, has long been rumored to collaborate with Mohanlal. However, recent updates suggest that Mohanlal will not be the lead in Anwar Rasheed’s upcoming movie. Instead, Kunchacko Boban is set to star in Anwar Rasheed’s next film. Produced by Sophia Paul under the Weekend Blockbusters banner, the film’s shooting might commence later this year. Amal Neerad will handle the cinematography, and the music will be composed by Sushin Shyam. For Kunchacko Boban’s lead role, an actress from outside the Malayalam industry is being considered. An official announcement is expected soon.
