Suresh Gopi’s latest look has sparked significant discussion on social media. The actor is now seen with a beard, bringing back his vintage appearance, as many fans have commented. However, with the new look, there is also speculation about the status of his upcoming film Othakkomban. Reports suggest that the movie has been delayed temporarily due to the lack of permission from the central government for the actor to act.

Suresh Gopi had announced that the filming of Othakkomban would begin in September after taking office as a central minister. However, due to the lack of approval from the government, the film has not started yet. Reports indicate that while serving as a central minister, Suresh Gopi is not allowed to act. According to the code of conduct for ministers at both central and state levels, engaging in other jobs is not permitted, as clarified by former Lok Sabha Secretary General P.D.T. Achary.

Nevertheless, Suresh Gopi had stated last month that he intends to make films and had sought permission from the government. “I will do films. I have asked for permission, but I haven’t received it yet. However, on September 6, I will begin Othakkomban. I need everyone’s blessings. I have agreed to do about 20 to 22 scripts with passion. When Amit Shah asked how many films I would do, I told him about 22, and he threw the paper aside. But he said I would be allowed. I will start on September 6. To do my work, I need to provide a cabin for three or four people from the ministry, whether I or the producer. I don’t want to make a big deal about it; I will focus more on my Thirissur people. I never desired or sought this. They told me my success is historical, and when they talked about its significance, I had to comply. I will always follow my leaders. Cinema is my passion. Without it, I would die,” Suresh Gopi stated.

Othakkomban is directed by Matthew Thomas. The film, announced in 2020, faced delays and had its teaser released earlier, marking it as Suresh Gopi’s 250th film, which was a huge hit. However, the film came under controversy when comparisons were made with the Prithviraj-starrer Kaduva, leading to a court case. The shooting will take place in locations such as Pala, Kochi, Mangalore, and Malaysia, with a budget of ₹25 crore.

In addition to Suresh Gopi, the film will feature Biju Menon, Mukesh, Vijay Raghavan, Ranjith Panikkar, Johnny Antony, and Sudhi Koppa. The lead roles of the heroine and villain are expected to be cast from Bollywood. The crew claims that this will be the biggest film of Suresh Gopi’s career.
