Following the massive success of KGF 2, Yash’s announcement to star in Geethu Mohandas’ film Toxic surprised many fans, especially after a two-year hiatus. Unlike expectations for another blockbuster commercial project, Yash’s decision to join Toxic marked a departure from the norm.

Reports indicate that over a hundred trees were cut down at the HMT compound in Bengaluru for the film’s production. Originally announced in 2023, Toxic was slated for release on April 10, 2025. However, Yash has clarified in interviews that the film will not meet this release date. This film marks Geethu Mohandas’ return to direction after working with Nivin Pauly in Moothon, and Sai Pallavi is set to star as the female lead, marking her debut in Kannada cinema. The film reportedly revolves around a drug cartel operating in Goa.
