Nihad, a controversial YouTuber from Kannur known as “Thoppi,” recently became the topic of discussion after his emotional live video. Nihad’s YouTube channel, mrz thoppi, has over 800,000 subscribers, with a significant portion of his audience being viewers under the age of 18. His videos are often criticized for toxic language and portraying women negatively.
In his latest live video, Thoppi announced, with tears, that he was ending his YouTube persona. “It might sound funny, but I am going to end this character. Do you remember when I last went live, saying I was going home? I went, and my family shut the door in my face. What’s the point of all the money and fame? It’s time to end this. Do you understand? It’s time to stop this character. I’m tired. I swear to my mother, I haven’t used any substances,” he said.
Nihad mentioned that this was one of the saddest days of his life and only came live because it was his birthday. “How can I explain that state to you? The only way is to let go of this character, to kill off ‘Thoppi’ and return to being Nihad. Otherwise, I don’t think I can move forward. I’m going back to my real self, my real character. But people will see what they want to see.”
He expressed his disappointment that, despite his popularity, his family did not accept him. “What’s the point of living if even your own family doesn’t accept you? Thoppi is dead. You will now see Nihad. Maybe, you will see Nihad someday. I’m not sure if I will even survive after stopping this live,” he concluded. The video ended with him stating that he hopes to be seen as a normal person from now on.
