Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, known for his charitable works, has contributed to many causes. This time, he has extended his support to the monkeys of Ayodhya as a Diwali gift.
The monkeys in Ayodhya are considered the descendants of Lord Hanuman’s valiant army from the Ramayana. According to local folklore, these monkeys played a crucial role in Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana. Currently, this group of monkeys faces challenges, often relying on leftover food from temple visitors. Akshay Kumar has stepped forward to help ensure food for them.
Under the guidance of Jagatguru Swami Raghavacharya Ji Maharaj, the Anjaneya Seva Trust is organizing donations to feed the monkeys. The aim is to provide them with food daily. Initially, Akshay Kumar donated 1,000 rupees, later increasing his contribution to 1 crore rupees to secure a consistent food supply for the monkeys.
Priya Gupta, a founding trustee of the Anjaneya Seva Trust, stated that Akshay donated the money in honor of his parents, Hari Om and Aruna Bhatia, and his father-in-law, Rajesh Khanna. She praised Akshay as a compassionate, generous individual and a socially conscious Indian citizen. Gupta also assured the residents of Ayodhya that feeding the monkeys would be managed without causing any inconvenience to the locals.
